I love cupcakes. Nothing is prettier that a cupcake. A cupcake is a small, individual version of a cake. A cupcake stands alone, or you can place in a group. Personalize them into your own creative cupcake recipe and baking creation.
A game that all children love is " Pin the Cherry on the Cupcake ". You can buy fabric versions of the cupcake party game, but I always love a home-made copy that the children can help decorate. Draw a large cupcake on a sheet of large paper and decorate with lots of color and sparkles. This is a fun game and perfect for your cupcake theme party. I always find my children love coloring the cupcake as much as they like playing the game. Decorating the game could also become a party activity. When you want to keep the little guests occupied, get them to frost and decorate their own cupcakes. Make a batch of cupcakes, have bowls of different coloured frosting and a variety of sprinkles, candies and edible toppers and let the kids go wild! They can either eat their cupcake immediately or take it home with them. If you are planning to serve cupcakes as the birthday cake and don’t want to decorate them as a party game as well, make cookies in a cupcake shape (using a cupcake cookie cutter) and the children can decorate them instead. My children love painting plaster shapes. Cupcake shaped moulds are readily available, so make up some shapes prior to the party and let the children paint. Supply acrylic paints and have a range of glitter, beads, sequins etc to adhere to their faux cupcakes. My daughter and her friends love painting these and the finished results look spectacular and are really individual.
Another popular cupcake shop on the West coast is Sprinkles, located in Beverly Hills. Celebrities can be seen basking in cupcake glory just like the rest of us. Oprah, a very famous cupcake lover, has even given away free cupcakes as a treat to her audience. At some weddings, couples and their guests are enjoying a wedding cupcake tree instead of a traditional wedding cake. A cupcake tree features many decorative cupcakes - like a flower cupcake - sitting prettily on a cupcake stand or each delicate cake is placed into an individual cupcake box. If you don’t happen to live close to a cupcake shop, you can always indulge in some delicious cupcake eating at home. Why not get some friends together and throw a cupcake party? Cupcake decorating is fun and each of you can use your imagination to create your own cupcake decorating idea. Of course, every good cupcake decorating party has to include cupcake sprinkles, but you can also use marshmallows, cookies, candy bits, maraschino cherries, decorative frosting bags and tips and, of course, lots of creamy frosting. You too can take cupcake decoration to new heights of sugary sweet temptation.
